What will be the most effective way to help? I want to help?
Before becoming an advocate of any cause you have to make sure you know who you are and why you’re there. If it’s because you’re angry as a result of a personal experience, watch your step because you can be heading towards a reactionary campaign, which is as a matter of fact not so effective.
Many want to become an active part of helping others and making a difference. They chose different causes and advocate for them. This can be as broad as a simple conversation with a friend, neighbor or acquaintance up to participating in a rally. Each form of advocacy is different and can lead to change. Nevertheless, what happens when those who are the ones leading a movement step outside of the law’s boundaries?
Through history we’ve seen persecuted activists or others who have been trusted and respected.
Some are willing to go as far as engaging in tactics that are violent enough to be considered a form of terrorism. They have been sucked by their causes. That’s why it’s so important you know yourself well enough before getting involved.
Getting under a car will can have only one name for me it’s called obstruction of justice. As responsable citizens or future citizens we need to abide by the laws that govern us, if not what would happen all around the country. Activists that engage in this sort of activity do people who will benefit by their cause, no favor at all.
Don’t get me wrong, I believe that our borders should not be militarized (Berlin in our borders isn’t a pretty picture) and that all people should be treated with respect and dignity, yet we need to find the way to do it reaching out to everyone and spreading the message with bottom line results. At the end of the day, that’s all that matters.
I am not willing to believe that Border Patrol agents and Police officers are something similar to the Nazi Gestapo. I’m not saying that you may find someone who also as the activists has chosen that specific career to vent their anger, yet not all are the same.
They have to have people there who are hard-working, honest and decent. Nevertheless, the law is the law!
What would be of us if the little order we still have is thrown away in favor of one or any cause at all. Since the beginning of society there has been injustice and things that should have never happened, but they did. The only way we are going to make a long-lasting change is through advocacy and education. Not any advocacy, but one that will have lasting results.
